Erdoğan Highlights NATO Summit’s Role in Elevating Türkiye’s Tech Influence

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared that Türkiye has enhanced its international standing following the successful organization of the NATO Summit on July 7–8. He termed the summit a historic achievement, underscoring the attendance of global leaders, including US President Donald Trump. Erdoğan emphasized that the event underscored Türkiye’s increasing influence in global diplomacy.

During the summit, NATO leaders came to a consensus on the significance of eliminating obstacles to cooperation in the defense industry, a point Erdoğan highlighted. A notable outcome from the summit is NATO’s decision to establish a Counter-Unmanned Systems Centre of Excellence in Konya, Türkiye, marking a strategic development in the region.

The summit also featured a Defence Industry Forum, which attracted nearly 1,000 participants. Erdoğan expressed optimism that the forum would not only bolster the nation’s tourism sector but also enhance Türkiye’s international prestige.

Looking ahead, President Erdoğan expressed a desire to increase collaboration with the United States, aiming to elevate bilateral trade to $100 billion. He reiterated Türkiye’s dedication to promoting peace and stability within the region.

In addition, Erdoğan extended his condolences to Qatar on the passing of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, reflecting Türkiye’s commitment to maintaining strong regional ties.
