Türkiye has raised concerns over Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its alleged obstruction of Syria’s recovery efforts, warning that such measures could exacerbate instability across the Middle East. These issues were discussed during a meeting of Türkiye’s Presidential High Advisory Board, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara on Wednesday.
The board criticized Israel’s conduct regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque following its recent military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Additionally, Türkiye accused Israel of hindering Syria’s reconstruction after years of devastating conflict.
During the meeting, officials highlighted Türkiye’s growing defense cooperation with regional partners, notably Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. A joint defense agreement signed in Mecca was cited as an example of enhanced security coordination between the three nations.
Türkiye reaffirmed its dedication to fostering peace and stability in the region, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic engagement and cooperation in managing tensions. The discussions concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening regional security amid ongoing conflicts and geopolitical uncertainty.
